Arrival!
So I have officially arrived in Khon Kaen! I had a 10 hour flight from SFO to Narita, Japan, then had a 4 hour layover till my flight from Narita to Bangkok(5 hours), then a 6 hour layover in Bangkok before my 45 minute flight from Bangkok to Khon Kaen. All in all everything went well aside from the little Japanese girl getting tickled by her sister behind my seat which caused a large amount of kicking the back of my seat...
Scott picked me up from the Khon Kaen airport and drove me directly back to his beautiful home in a "gated" community. "Gated" meaning that, if you were to drive up with a handgun drawn and firing, the guard might stop you, but he also might not. And especially in my case since I'm white. Damn crazy Americans. The house is extremely open and I plan to post some pictures when I can. (I'll describe the house more later, I just wanna get everything out of my head before I forget it.)
Kat and Alex met me at the door and said hi. Alex is EXTREMELY cute, like, you don't really understand how cute he is. He is extremely empathetic in pointing at things and then saying something that no doubt makes a lot of sense to him and Kat and Scott, but unfortunately leaves me completely confused. However, he seems to like me so far. =] I also met Peggy, Kat's younger sister who lives with them at the house. Everyone has been extremely kind and were all getting along great! I told you this was going to be terrible writing.
Anyway, hrm, lets see, so the city is actually more like 300,000 people according to Scott. The city is pretty nice, very much like every other city except I can't understand anything and theres a lot of street vendors and open buildings. Everything is VERY green. Its absolutely beautiful here. The house is right near a lake that I've only caught glimpses off; I plan to explore it soon.
I know this is pitiful attempt at telling everything but I'll come back on and write more later. It's time for breakfast (eggs and bacon and toast...mmmm).
First funny sign I've seen that actually had my laughing pretty hard. The international telephones that are out of service, insteadof saying "out of service" said, "These phones are regular cleaning". I'm still trying to figure out what they're cleaning, and why its regular.
Anyways, more later
I love you all and miss you all! Comment and question and itll help me write more!
